In 2011, the Department of Education published a document called ‘Literacy and Numeracy for Learning and Life’. This was a national strategy to improve Literacy and Numeracy in all educational settings from 2011-2020. As part of this national strategy, all schools have been asked to engage in a process of self-evaluation. This involves the staff, parents and pupils exploring and reflecting on what are the strengths of the school and what could be improved in relation to the teaching of Literacy and Numeracy. Mpre recently, Well-being has been included.

As a staff, we have been working on this process of ‘Self Evaluation’ to improve the teaching, learning and assessment in the school.
